Names in Korean

140 first names written in Hangul, from A to Z.

The list has 122 common US baby names of 2000–2025 (Social Security records) whose Korean spelling is official — it is in the loanword usage list of the National Institute of Korean Language — or follows the official rules for English, and which are in the CMU Pronouncing Dictionary. It also has 18 common names of Spanish or Arabic origin (Wiktionary) with an official spelling or a spelling by the Spanish rules. Pages marked “Official spelling” follow NIKL’s list; the others follow the Loanword Orthography rules. Each page shows the spelling, its source, the syllables, the meaning when Wiktionary records one, and Korean names picked for it. Only names with enough information of their own get a page: a sourced meaning plus at least one person with the name in the NIKL list, or at least eight such people. Other names still work in the converter.
